How to edit boot.ini in Windows XP

This is happen when you accidentally install another windows without formating or delete the old one

Open your control panel
Open "System > Advanced"

Click "Setting" in Startup and Recovery

Click "Edit" in System Startup. (At this place you must know which one is your preferred Windows)
**Tips just choose the 1st or 2nd in boot loader menu. If the 1st is working, then you need to check in C:\ what is the date for folder windows and windows.0
**Still not sure, select any windows in "Default Operating System" at Control Panel > System > Advanced Startup and Recovery. Play with this and try to set it to be the 1st top in the boot loader menu.

This to make sure the path you are going to delete

If you confirm that your window.0 is not your preferred windows, the delete the line
"multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect"

Then restart, this should solve your problem. If you need any help just tell me
